King Argos of Sparta washes ashore on a strange island after his entire fleet is destroyed by a storm. While exploring the beach and surrounding ruins, he hears the voice of a captive oracle pleading for rescue. She offers him a bargain: free her, and she will use her power to send him home. Hero of Sparta follows Argos through the trials that stand between that promise and the shore of his homeland.
