Eleven days after vanquishing Jaffar, the Prince returns to the palace to claim the Princess's hand as his reward, only to be mysteriously transformed into a beggar upon arrival. An imposter wearing his face—the sorcerer Jaffar, magically disguised—turns the guards against him, forcing the Prince to flee the city by ship. A magical tempest strikes the vessel, and the Prince washes ashore on a desolate island where he encounters animated skeletons, spectral ruins, and visions of a mysterious woman who reveals herself as his mother and demands he avenge a forgotten massacre. As Jaffar seizes the Persian throne and slowly drains the Princess's life with dark magic, the Prince discovers he can command his own shadow and seeks out an enchanted flame guarded by warrior monks in a crimson temple. Armed with these supernatural powers, he races back to Persia to face Jaffar in a final confrontation that will determine the fate of the kingdom and the woman he loves.
