The 13th Month

The princess was given everything at birth — beauty, grace, kindness, and a gentle honesty that made everyone around her better. On the day she was to turn sixteen, a young girl arrived at the castle gates. She was a witch. A spoken incantation sent the princess into an eternal sleep. The room became still, and the years began to pass with no one present but the two of them. Every hundred years, a prince arrived to wake the princess with a kiss — heroes, legendary figures, travelers from other worlds — and every one of them failed. The witch watched them all with cold, unreadable eyes and said nothing. What she is protecting the princess from, and what secret the princess was entrusted with before she fell asleep, are questions the castle still holds.
