Long ago, two European nations began a war fought through ever-advancing mysticism and technology that has continued for nearly a thousand years. By A.D. 2400, the role of Jeanne d'Arc — the saint who saves the nation — has become a hollow tradition. The 17th Jeanne d'Arc has one wish: to stop being a saint. Sainthood ends either through guiding the nation to salvation — or by falling in love. Her plan: pursue both at once, charge across the battlefield with spear in hand, and finally abandon her sainthood. This love, it turns out, is not something so easily bound.
