Suspect

A reporter attending Maryland's most exclusive Halloween gala as a favor to an old acquaintance finds themselves at the center of a murder investigation when their host is discovered dead—strangled with a rope and shot with a bullet that both suspiciously connect to the reporter's own costume. With the murder weapon bearing the reporter's fingerprints and their props conveniently missing from their hiding spot, they become the obvious suspect in an elegant but cutthroat gathering where masked attendees conceal their identities as readily as their secrets. Forced to navigate a ballroom full of wealthy socialites, hidden grudges, and shifting alibis, the reporter must uncover the genuine killer before the authorities make an irreversible arrest based on circumstantial evidence alone.
