The saga then shifts to a conquered kingdom where the militaristic Palamecia Empire has conquered vast territories through summoning otherworldly horrors, leaving a devastated nation in ruins. Survivors of the fallen city of Fynn—a handful of young refugees—must escape across enemy-controlled lands toward the distant sanctuary of Altair, hunted every step of the way as they seek hope for resistance against an apparently unstoppable occupying force.
