Final Fantasy XIII

Final Fantasy XIII

Released2009
Final Fantasy XIII is a single-player Japanese role-playing game and the thirteenth main entry in the Final Fantasy series. Combat uses a real-time variant of the series' Active Time Battle system, in which the player directs one lead character while the Paradigm system lets the party switch between combat roles such as attacker, healer, and support. Character growth is handled through the Crystarium, a grid-based progression system that unlocks abilities and stat bonuses. Set across the floating world of Cocoon and the wilderness of Gran Pulse, the game combines science fiction and fantasy elements with series staples like summoned creatures and airships. It was followed by two sequels, Final Fantasy XIII-2 and Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII.

About This Game

Lightning, a disillusioned ex-soldier, becomes an unlikely fugitive when her sister is conscripted as a vessel for a divine force from Pulse and branded a traitor by Cocoon's ruling regime. The floating megastructure's government has declared a purge against all who've contacted the forbidden lower world, leaving Lightning desperate to rescue her sibling before execution. In her flight, she encounters other marked individuals—strangers bound by the same mysterious power—who are collectively entrusted with an enigmatic mission they must decipher together. As this fractured group evades the Sanctum's forces, they must race against a terrible fate: should they fail their incomprehensible task, they risk permanent transformation into something no longer human. Survival means understanding their purpose while staying ahead of both institutional oppression and supernatural corruption.
