Gustavinho's troubles begin when he kicks a ball into an old man sitting in a park and then rudely demands it back. As punishment, the old man sends him to Ancient Egypt, where he finds himself inside the Pyramid of Giza. Escaping the pyramid, Gustavinho encounters a merchant at the banks of the Nile who, after much stalling, arranges passage for him aboard a boat to the Sphinx of Giza. There, he deciphers an enigma to enter the Sphinx and discovers a statue of Anubis, the Egyptian god of death. Outside, the aged prophet Nasrudin sets him on his path, directing him first to Cleopatra, who gives him one of the Eyes of Anubis. Following clues further afield, Gustavinho discovers that Julius Caesar in Rome seeks both eyes to power a time machine with which he plans to conquer the entire world. Gustavinho steals the second eye and races back to Egypt to warn Cleopatra of her lover's schemes. She responds by sinking the ships from Rome, then gives Gustavinho her staff to activate the time machine and promises to seal the Sphinx forever. With the machine powered, Gustavinho finds his way back to his own time.
