About This Game

The canonical ending of Heroes I leaves Lord Morglin Ironfist victorious, and in the years that follow he unifies the continent of Enroth and secures his rule as king. But upon his death, his two sons — Archibald and Roland — vie for the crown. Archibald engineers a chain of events that drives Roland into exile and has himself declared king, prompting Roland to raise a resistance. Each side anchors one of the game's two campaigns: Archibald's draws on the three "evil" town alignments, Roland's on the three "good." Should Archibald prevail, Roland's rebellion is crushed and he is imprisoned in Castle Ironfist. The canonical outcome, however, is Roland's victory, with Archibald turned to stone by Roland's court wizard, Tanir — an event later referenced in Might and Magic VI, where Archibald is eventually freed from the spell.
