About This Game

On an autumn night, a fifteen-year-old boy is running from police when a well-connected man intervenes and diffuses the situation. Over coffee, the boy explains that he ran away from his orphanage to find some trace of his parents. The man — private detective Shunsuke Utsugi — offers him work as an assistant. Months pass. Then a call comes in about a murder at Ushimitsu High School: the victim is Yoko Kojima, a freshman schoolgirl. The investigation brings the protagonist into contact with two of Yoko's classmates — Ayumi Tachibana and Hitomi Kawaii — and into a mystery surrounding a school rumor called "The Tale of the Girl Who Stands Behind," describing a blood-soaked ghost that appears behind students. Yoko had been investigating that rumor before she died. Following her research means following the thread she left — wherever it ends.
