Superlite 1500 Series: Pangaea

Released1999
Pangaea is a multiplayer randomly-generated dungeon RPG designed to play like a board game. Nearly all actions in the game are decided by dice rolls, including the monsters fought, the effect of attacks and item use, contents of treasures, and even the layout of the dungeon itself -- entering an unmapped square will start a roll that decides the type of space that goes there.

About This Game

A dungeon crawler with no story. The player builds a party of up to four adventurers from four classes — Fighter, Priest/Priestess, Thief, Sorcerer/Sorceress — and explores dungeons until all routes are exhausted, collecting experience and treasure while trying not to die. Completing a dungeon earns a bonus proportional to the dungeon's size. Between runs, the party returns to an unnamed town to buy and sell items, heal, rearrange the team, and save. Characters cannot share items or gold with each other. The goal is survival and thorough exploration.
