Filgaia is a dying world — its seas replaced by sand, its history buried in the wreckage of an ancient war. Four Drifters, traveling separate roads, find themselves drawn together and chosen to carry the power of the Guardians, the spiritual protectors of the land. Their combined mission: prevent a prophesied catastrophe that none of them can yet name. The opposition is constant. Rival Drifter groups, a fanatical trio of scientists known as the Prophets, and the demons of Filgaian legend all work against them.
