Puyo Puyo Tsuu replaces the first game's linear structure with a tower. Arle Nadja selects opponents via roulette on each floor, accumulating experience points toward the floor's required total. If the target is not met after all opponents have been defeated, one final challenger appears. Failing to meet the target even then ends the run. Required EXP differs across versions — the Super Puyo Puyo Tsu edition requires twice the points for the first floor compared to the arcade and Mega Drive releases. The Perfect Set collects multiple versions of Puyo Puyo Tsuu across its release history.
