Six months ago, the cafe called Famille — the one Takamura Hitoshi's late brother spent his life building — burned to the ground. The staff survived, the memories survived, but without the building there is no cafe. Then a new shopping mall calls: they want Famille to open a branch inside their center. Hitoshi cannot refuse. The new Famille opens with him as manager and a collection of problems already in place: two key staff members refused to return, Hitoshi had to leave college to make the opening work, and directly across the food court, through glass, is Curio — the popular cafe that Famille was originally inspired by, which has also taken a spot in the same building. The battle for survival begins on day one.
