Sims head out for a night on the town in this socially focused expansion for the hit sequel, bringing a wealth of new objects, interactions, and features. With Nightlife, Sims 2 characters can go on dates in a new downtown district packed with restaurants and nightclubs that players are free to edit or rebuild as they like. A date's success is tracked from moment to moment, and two Sims who hit it off unlock fresh social interactions to deepen their romance, while many of the expansion's new objects — like the dining booth and the bowling alley — let Sims strengthen their relationships and meet their other needs while having fun. Nightlife enriches the wider game too: beyond dates, Sims can gather for "Group Outings" to enjoy the downtown scene together without the romantic pressure, and a new Pleasure life aspiration caters to those truly devoted to the pursuit of happiness, with wants and fears to match. Another major addition is automobiles — Sims who can afford one may now own and drive their own car, free from the wait for a carpool or cab. Other new objects include a poker table and a DJ stand, along with many more lighting options, and as ever, most can be used in Sims' private homes or dorm rooms as well as in the new public downtown areas.
