In 1933, an ambitious filmmaker named Carl Denham charters a tramp steamer to the uncharted and forbidding Skull Island, bringing along scriptwriter Jack Driscoll and aspiring actress Ann Darrow to shoot his movie. When the expedition lands, the crew quickly discovers the island is a nightmarish world untouched by time, teeming with monstrous insects, vicious predators, and towering prehistoric beasts. Disaster strikes when the native islanders capture Ann and offer her as a sacrifice to Kong, a colossal gorilla who rules the jungle. Torn between terror and devotion, Jack plunges deep into the wilds to rescue her, armed with little more than scavenged weapons and his own resolve.
