When a Cherokee mechanic named Tommy Tawodi is unexpectedly pulled from his Oklahoma reservation life into a massive, living alien vessel alongside his girlfriend and grandfather, he discovers he possesses dormant spiritual powers rooted in his heritage. The Sphere, an enormous organic starship that travels through space consuming entire worlds for sustenance, has become an inescapable labyrinth of grotesque creatures, shifting gravity, and warping dimensional passages. Armed only with salvaged alien weaponry and the ability to project his spirit outside his body—allowing him to bypass physical barriers and recover from death itself—Tommy must navigate the nightmarish corridors of the ship to locate Jen and find a way to escape before the Sphere claims them all.
