One evening, a man appears in Himeko's room to tell her a story. The stories that follow are not the comforting kind — they pull from both Western and Eastern traditions and twist the endings in directions that have nothing to do with happily ever after. Himeko plays the heroine of each one. Alongside the main route for each story, alternate paths and different conclusions branch off depending on her choices. After completing all of them, she can revisit every setting with the mysterious Mr. Guide.
