Near the end of the Han Dynasty, a hidden community of Maozoku lives deep in the mountains — cat-people descended from a feared youkai, shunned by humanity with the derogatory name "Jyuuza." Among them is Kan U, a half-human, half-Maozoku woman who has worked all her life to contribute to the community despite the burden of her mixed blood. The fragile peace is shattered when the ambitious general Sou Sou leads his army into their mountains looking for Yellow Turban rebels. He accuses the Maozoku of sheltering the rebels and gives them one choice: fight for him and defeat the rebels to prove their innocence, or face the consequences. Kan U and her people are pulled into the Three Kingdoms era's conflicts, struggling for survival and identity in a world that has never accepted them.
