At the end of the Han Dynasty, the Maozoku—a people with human bodies and the ears and features of cats, reviled as the "thirteenth zodiac sign" by humans who begrudge them the place they were denied—found fragile peace after the Battle of Guandu. Now Sousou has consolidated power over Heibei province and launched a campaign against the proto-Mongolic Wuhan, and the humans of Kyoto have seized his absence to drive the Maozoku from yet another home. The wheels of fate between the two peoples are turning again.
