In a distant future, a mysterious alien civilization launched a campaign to conquer Earth and wipe out humanity entirely. The nations of Earth banded together to form the EDC — the Earth Defense Corps — and mounted a counteroffensive. Despite total commitment, humanity's technology fell short, and the invaders captured most of the planet. With the last EDC fortress surrounded and all options exhausted, command makes a final desperate decision: send everything remaining directly at the heart of the alien stronghold.
