Fallen London: A Crown of Thorns

The Thorned Manservant came back from the War against Hell changed in ways that are not fully visible from the outside. His new employment is at the Shuttered Palace, where a certain prince lives in seclusion for reasons that are not explained at the outset. The story is about infiltrating the palace, satisfying one's curiosity, and uncovering the connection between the Manservant and the prince he now serves.
