Spirit of Shotgun

You find yourself in a situation that requires some description: you are stuck at the waist inside a talking wooden barrel. The barrel has also lost its memories to the darkness of the Abyss, which is where both of you currently are — the deepest place on Earth. You do not recall why you came here. You do know that the lantern you are carrying is important. The goal is to climb upward, rediscovering what was lost along the way. Guidance comes from the Holy Spirit of the Way of the Shotgun — a religion that is almost entirely extinct. Light holy shrines as you encounter them, replenish ammunition, and recover Ancient Shotguns that allow you to reach places that would otherwise be inaccessible to someone without one.
