The flight to Lee's new job in the Bahamas was going well: good weather, a small plane, and a pilot named Tonya who made the journey considerably more interesting than airline travel usually manages. Then everything went wrong at once. Lee wakes up on a deserted beach, hurt, thirsty, and alone — no sky, no plane, no Tonya. The hotel job is not happening. Survival is the new assignment. The island sounds dangerous at night and Lee does not yet know what makes those sounds. Whether Tonya is alive somewhere on the island, and whether there is any way off of it, are the two questions that make everything else worth pushing through.
