The job is taking care of sixteen Holstein cows and their calves at a working ranch. That means chasing the cows with the help of a dog, milking them, feeding them on schedule, and carrying the milk in buckets carefully enough not to spill it. There is also a truck and a village to explore, and conversations with the owner, breeders, veterinarians, and agricultural technicians who all depend on the farm doing well. If the facility gets too dirty or the animals fall sick, it gets shut down. The hero himself has days where motivation fails — sleeping it off at home or drinking fresh milk directly from the cows tends to restore it. Keeping the letter of resignation unsubmitted is part of the work.
