A Ghostly Rose

Edmund does not know where he is. He does not know how he got here. What he knows is that the place is called the Web, and that it is terrible — an unstable space where willpower shapes reality and the instability makes everything dangerous. Four flames burn somewhere in the Web and are changing it in ways that nothing will be able to undo. The laughter that echoes through the empty walls has been ongoing since before Edmund arrived. He has no weapons, no inventory, nothing but the clothes he is wearing. He begins fighting with his hands — punching and kicking through everything that stands between him and the way out. He cannot hesitate. He cannot stop. He is doing this to see her again.
