Universal Enemies

Long ago, humanity's wars consumed species that were not part of the conflict. The guilt and grief that followed led scientists to create artificial life from what was lost — creatures they called monsters, built from that guilt. The monsters eventually fled and began causing disruptions in locations across the world. Individuals with particular aptitude have been selected by multiple countries to calm and recover the runaway monsters, protect those that have been contained, and investigate why the creatures keep running in the first place.
