The city is your home and it is under siege. Locate the monsters, fight what you can, run when you need to, and collect everything that might be useful. Rumors have been circulating about an evil overlord directing the creatures from somewhere unseen. Find a way to harvest the blood of the monsters, close in on the demon controlling them, and take back what was yours before this started.
