After the Great Cataclysm left his clan in hardship, the raider Bolthorn Raven-Hands set out to restore their fortunes. He found the Scarab Bracelet — the most prized relic of a lost civilization, and allegedly capable of filling Valkenheim's tables with enough food and drink to ease generations of suffering. To take it, he betrayed a friend. On the journey home, the bracelet made its nature known. Strange illness. Bad omens following him everywhere. Crops withering across Heathmoor, people falling like harvested grass. Bolthorn tried to remove the bracelet and found that he could not. It had decided to stay.
