She is nineteen years old, passionate about music despite a talent that has not quite caught up to her ambition, and recently relocated to the capital city to find something more than a small-town life. She works at a department store and lives in a tiny apartment. When the annual Pecuária festival comes to town — an event mixing amusement park rides, cattle exhibitions, food stalls, and famous country music acts — she decides to go. The headlining singer turns out to be lip-syncing. She leaves disappointed. A series of cascading misfortunes follows, each one worse than the last, until she finds herself without a job, without a home, and trapped on the farm of an arrogant country singer with nowhere else to go.
