Dead Forest

Laki carries a curse: beastmen who get close to him disappear. To understand what is happening and how to end it, he sets out for the Dead Forest — a place that almost no traveler has ever left. The people he encounters there each hold a piece of what he needs to know: a shaman who keeps the threads of fate; a ghost still attached to the past; a young magician who took a wrong turn and cannot find the way home. And then there is Claude, the mysterious stranger traveling alongside Laki whose reasons for being there are not yet clear.
