In the beginning, only Ethers existed — until a massive explosion scattered them across space, creating the four fundamental attributes of fire, water, wind, and earth. The byproducts of that explosion coalesced into a world called Rovelius. Eventually, Ethers imbued with all four attributes fused together into a god named Peren, who created two children: Urkeith, who cultivated darkness, and Omerta, who cultivated light. Each shaped their half of Rovelius in their own image. The villages that grew under their protection flourished — until the difference in values between the two gods' domains sparked conflicts that escalated, slowly and inevitably, into open war.
