Aeloras, a police student in the city of Visthansia, defeats a memories-manipulating creature to graduate — and then passes out. He wakes up in a village trapped in an eternal 3-day cycle, and soon learns he has been infected by a disease that pairs him with a stranger who bears the exact same mark on their body. They must meet or both will die. His Pair is not in Visthansia's database, so he embarks on a journey to the second city, Gaia, where people can surgically change their likes and dislikes at will. Along the way, fight unique creatures, meet interesting people, and grapple with conflicting, thought-provoking concepts that aim to provide food for thought long after the credits roll.
