A mysterious woman in black has a job for detective Nick Bounty: recover a priceless ceramic goat statue from the office of a recently deceased lawyer. It should be simple enough. It is not. Someone else is already after the goat, the woman in black is clearly not telling him everything, and the statue seems to carry secrets that more than one person would prefer stayed buried.
