Memento Mori

Ordinary girls with slight extraordinary powers have long been called witches — a quiet distinction, not a threat. Then a calamity spreads across the land and the Church of Longinus begins a Witch Hunt, executing witches one by one in the belief that killing them will end the disaster. It does not end the disaster. Instead, a new force emerges — the Witches of Qlipha, whose grieving fury begins consuming nations: a country incinerated by hellfire, a kingdom crystallized, an empire purged by an awakened Tree of Life. As everything falls apart, the fractured land is hurled into the sky. And within the cursed girls who survive, something like hope remains — the belief that it is still possible to save what is left.
