For generations, the tribes of Ashmyr tore each other apart in wars over territory. Then an ancient force was unleashed — one that granted immense power to those nearby, but at a terrible cost: it erased their minds and corrupted their bodies, leaving only savage, destructive beings called the Ilcyon behind. Armies fell to them. Towns were obliterated. Then a single warrior did what no one had managed before: he united the tribes under one banner to survive together. From that coalition came a new order called the Bound — open only to those who endured years of brutal training to earn their place.
