Dead Cells is a roguelite action-platformer with deep metroidvania roots. You play as a failed alchemic experiment trapped in an ever-shifting castle, taking over corpses to move, fight, and explore. Your hosts die. You do not — and you start again. Combat is tough but fair: responsive controls, challenging enemies, and the ever-present emergency roll to escape bad situations. Beating the game requires surviving from start to finish without checkpoints. But each run keeps some of what you have earned: unlocked paths, new mutations, new weapons. Kill, die, learn, repeat.
