Space Runaway

On September 5, 1977, NASA launched Voyager 1 into the outer solar system carrying a message for any extraterrestrial life it might encounter. Two hundred years later, on Planet Corot, Dr. Lincoln Maverick's secret project — a giant combat mech called XR-110 capable of interstellar travel — turns out to have extraterrestrial origins too: it is a relic from the Toliman Empire's past. When the Empire launches a surprise attack on Corot before the mech can be fully repaired, Lieutenant Brooklyn Landers of the Earth Confederation Defence Force climbs inside, escapes the collapsing facility, and shoulders the fate of humanity. General Scaph, furious, orders the pursuit to begin.
