Space Pirates for Life

The Cosmic Butterfly is manned by a small crew of space pirates who spend their years harvesting gold components from decommissioned satellites. The proceeds fund a rebellion against Earth's wealthiest one percent. When the ultra-rich band together to finance a space fleet with one objective — destroy the Cosmic Butterfly — the pirates refuse to flee. The battle goes badly. The ship is shot to pieces, and the crew ejects in separate escape pods and crashes onto an unknown planet with breathable air and signs of life — a planet that seems to have been deliberately kept secret from history. One pirate wakes up, fashions a sword from escape pod parts, and sets out to find the crew.
