Makibishi Kikumaru's quiet life with his tanuki-faced family ends abruptly when his grandfather dies — and a cat-eared woman in battle dress shows up to his funeral vigil and opens fire with a machine gun. His sister reveals herself as a tanuki-eared ninja. A mysterious and beautiful cat-eared woman named Touka arrives to protect him, calling him by a different name entirely: Lord Saiga Kikumaru. Turns out demi-humans have been living among regular people for centuries, serving as ninja during the Sengoku period, and Makibishi was born into the family that bridges their world and the mainstream one. Getting serious about it is apparently a matter of survival.
