Poisoned Path

Rinako Kurosawa's attempt to reconcile with her estranged family spirals into tragedy when a mysterious accident claims her parents' lives, fracturing what little remained of their bond. Driven by the authorities' failure to find answers, she abandons her civilian existence to become a police detective, seeking justice through official channels. Her determination unravels, however, when she receives an assignment that demands the impossible: infiltrate a yakuza organization, earn its leadership's confidence, and dismantle it from within—or die trying to gather intelligence for the government. Caught between her duty as a detective and the moral quicksand of deep-cover work, Rinako finds herself entangled in a world of deceit where distinguishing truth from fabrication becomes increasingly impossible. As she descends deeper into the criminal underworld, the line between her identity and her cover begins to blur, forcing her to confront whether redemption or ruin awaits her.
