In 1998, a private jet carrying the Roottree Sisters and their parents crashes. They were worth over a billion dollars combined. Due to their eccentric ancestor Elias's instructions, that money must go to legitimate blood relatives — which requires figuring out who actually qualifies. Armed with a dial-up modem, you scour photos, books, articles, and obscure records, making deductions and filling in a family tree one connection at a time.
