Where is Mrs Peregrine?

Mrs Peregrine is precious to Maple — inseparable since birth, practically family. The narrator has strong opinions about Maple, and even stronger opinions about Mrs Peregrine. One cold afternoon, the narrator arrives to visit Maple only to find that Mrs Peregrine is not on the porch where she always is. In this almost-freezing weather, with her recent health problems, she could be in real danger. Mrs Peregrine must be found.
