A rebellion overturns an entire dynasty, and the war that follows is devastating enough to displace populations across entire regions. The world it leaves behind is one of collapsed institutions, active invasion from rebel forces, spreading disease, and desperate people competing for what resources remain. Surviving inside this collapse is the sustained challenge, and the conditions do not improve on their own.
