Natsu is a shy and somewhat effeminate young man whose family trip to his aunt Misaki's house in the countryside turns into a solo stay when his parents are called back for a work emergency. The peaceful rural summer he is anticipating lasts approximately until a self-proclaimed magical girl named Chitose decides to become part of his life. After that, the summer fills with people who do not fit into the quiet routine he imagined: an eccentric candy seller, a teacher who cannot quite convince herself she belongs in a classroom, and a pink-haired loudmouth who never enters a room quietly. Meanwhile, his aunt behaves strangely every time the outdoors comes up in conversation. He has thirty days before his parents return to collect him. Whether he makes anything of those days, and what he learns about the women around him in the process, is the shape of what follows.
