Afternoon Affairs & Helpless Housewives

Set in the early nineties, Takumi Nakama has failed his college entrance exams, lacks the willpower to retake them, and refuses to job hunt. Out of options, his parents hand him an old apartment building as both a job and a place to live. There, he meets two young housewives: Akemi Ushio and Shino Kumagaya. They seem easy to get along with at first — but both feel trapped, and their troubles are slowly breaking them down. Their sole ally is an inexperienced, awkward, and well-meaning landlord.
