Harukanaru Nirai Kanai

On the eastern edge of the ocean lies the Nirai Kanai. Agarikata is the only city in Okinawa Prefecture without a conventional police force — its security is handled by the Ookmiza, a vigilante organization whose members are secretly descendants of the Ryukyu Kingdom, dissolved long ago. The reason for this arrangement: the Ookmiza carries the Kaminchu spiritual power of the Ryukyuan people, which is the only force capable of destroying the Majimun demons that have plagued this region throughout recorded history. The Japanese government has quietly permitted the Ryukyu Kingdom to maintain its existence because without that spiritual lineage, the demons cannot be stopped. At the head of the Ookmiza stands Tsukishiro Ichito, the third King of Ryukyu of the third dynasty — a man who spends peacetime running a small café and occasionally operating a food truck. His life changes when he steps in to protect a runaway girl named Misaki, who has come to Agarikata seeking the Nirai Kanai — the legendary Land of the Gods and the Dead. Ichito does not believe Nirai Kanai exists. His encounter with Misaki is the beginning of a major incident that threatens the survival of everything the Ryukyu Kingdom has been protecting.
