Legendary Heroes Unchained

A cult of engineers and scientists on the world of Korelis dedicated their lives to recovering the knowledge of an ancient civilization that predates all known cultures by thousands of years — a civilization that had built a machine capable of opening rifts for interdimensional travel, called the Pentarc. After centuries of work, the cult restored the machine and rebuilt the city around it. The first attempt to open a rift ended in catastrophic failure: all cult members were pulled into the void in an instant, and the Pentarc shattered in the explosion. The damage reached beyond the physical — the fabric of time and space itself was compromised, and the boundaries separating different dimensions and worlds began to break down. Korelis is now a convergence point where other planes and their inhabitants come together.
