Gisselle's Adventure

The story is told from the perspective of Gisselle, a young student with severe social anxiety disorder who has spent most of her life being educated at home, away from any sustained contact with other people. Accepted into Harvest Imperial Academy — one of the most prestigious institutions in the world, with its own collection of kept secrets — she has to face genuine social interaction for the first time. Every conversation is a battle. Every friendship is a significant achievement. Her anxiety manifests in dissociative episodes that make her question whether what she is experiencing in a given moment is real or a product of her own mind working against her. The school environment is hostile, her disorder is persistent, and progress, when it comes, is real but fragile.
