Unknown Tapes

You are the prey. Unknown Tapes is a found-footage horror game about surviving in a contemporary setting that has been overrun by dinosaurs — taking direct inspiration from Dino Crisis and Outlast in its emphasis on realism and tension. The game plays out over four to five hours. You are being hunted, which means hiding, staying quiet, using your wits, and occasionally improvising when the situation collapses. Larger dinosaurs can destroy buildings, so cover that seems reliable can be removed without warning. The game takes place primarily at night, in a mix of outdoor and enclosed environments that sometimes become claustrophobically small. The visual presentation uses a VHS effect and bodycam aesthetic. Your microphone is active and the game responds to sound you make in the real world.
